One of the best places to get married in South Jersey is The Legacy Club at Woodcrest wedding venue! Sure, there are a ton of wedding venues in Cherry Hill and the surrounding communities, but as a local wedding photographer, I can tell you why this gorgeous venue stands out. I have photographed lots of country club weddings, and there are several reasons that make The Legacy Club at Woodcrest weddings some of the most unique country club weddings I’ve seen! This post will explore the ins and outs to help you find out if this is the perfect venue for you and your partner.
What to Know About The Legacy Club at Woodcrest Wedding Venue
The Legacy Club is located on the East Side of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, making it a great central location that’s easily accessible for anyone attending your wedding. You may actually know this venue by it’s former name when it used to be the Woodcrest Country Club wedding venue. While this historic golf club actually dates all the way back to 1929, new owners purchased the property in 2022 and have since made some spectacular renovations!
This amazing venue has a ballroom for any size wedding, as well as a secondary ballroom for ceremonies and smaller receptions, and their in-house catering is top notch. There is a new wedding suite for getting ready, and a couple of bars to hang out at before getting ready if that’s your thing. There are multiple ceremony options and a ton of spots for photos.
Features of The Legacy Club at Woodcrest Venue
The Legacy Club at Woodcrest is one of the most adaptable wedding venues, as it offers a variety of unique features that many other venues don’t. Here is some helpful information about my 5 favorite venue features!
Feature #1 : The Atrium
The Atrium is one of the newest and most beautiful features at The Legacy Club! It’s a separate building from the main space that can be used for both wedding ceremonies and small receptions. It has towering high ceilings and mostly glass walls that overlook the sprawling greens of the golf course. The main glass wall can actually fully open up to transform the room into an open air space! The atrium is connected to the main building with a windowed hallway, and in the center is an exquisite outdoor courtyard for your cocktail hour.
Feature #2 : Ceremony Spaces
The Legacy Club has several different amazing options for your ceremony location! As I mentioned above, the atrium is a perfect blend of indoor convenience and outdoor light and beauty. My couple Amanda & Matt had their ceremony inside the atrium on a lovely day with the windows open. A classic ceremony option is out front on the putting green, underneath a stunning maple tree. Belinda & Galen had their ceremony under the tree during golden hour in October, which was simply magic! The most picturesque ceremony option is out back on the 18th hole. My couple, Jill & Vincent, was the first couple to have their ceremony in this spot! They got married in the warm glow of sunset in August.
Feature #3 : The Coordinators
Not all venue coordinators are created equally, and some of the best wedding coordinators in South Jersey work here at The Legacy Club. They are incredibly helpful and hands on WITHOUT being intrusive, which can be hard to come by! These ladies are always available to help, but they’ll never step on our toes or cause a disruption. They’re at the ready with a sewing kit for any potential wardrobe malfunctions, and they’ll keep a lookout for us to make sure we’re safe from rogue golf balls. They will even help us round up and transport your family members when it’s time for those lovingly chaotic family photos!
Feature #4 : Sprawling Grounds
The Legacy Club has a huge variety of spots for wedding photos. We explore the sprawling grounds on golf carts, and stop at a range of backdrops with different trees, tall grasses, stone bridges, fountains, and even the exteriors of the buildings. There is scenery for every taste! I will always try to build in plenty of time in your timeline to take advantage of as many photo spots as you like. In case of inclement weather, we can also creatively utilize different interior areas.
Feature #5 : Cocktail Hour
Photographers tend to be cocktail hour enthusiasts - it’s our first chance of the day to grab a quick bite, and it holds us over since we usually don’t get our meals until all the guests have eaten. So I know a thing or two about good cocktail hour food! While the food will depend on your wedding package, The Legacy Club has a fantastic variety of different cuisines available that will surely suit all of your guests. From Italian to Asian, seafood to vegetarian dishes, and everything in between, you just can’t go wrong! Pro tip: let’s plan to get all of your photos done before the ceremony, and you can enjoy the cocktail hour food in all of its glory.
